Forget about heat pumps

Heat pumps have been big lately when the government announced its funding pool for green heating improvements.

But experts at Boiler Central have suggested that there are cheaper – and better – alternatives to go through the trick of installing one.

Ketelsentraal said: “Unfortunately, not every house is suitable for heat pump installation. For example, if you live in an apartment above ground level, you obviously have nowhere to dig a hole for the ground source heat pump, and it is also not worth it to to get planning permission for an air source heat pump that will keep you less than a boiler.

“Furthermore, the cost of installing a ground source heat pump can rise to a water tooth £ 35,000. Air source heat pumps are much cheaper to install, averaging around £ 7,000, but they are completely dependent on the outside weather, which means you should still use your kettle on the colder days.

“If your house and bags are suitable for the installation of a heat pump, especially a ground source, it is really absolutely fantastic for the environment.
“Heat pumps also offer a degree of certainty amid the massive fluctuating gas prices and the related energy prices over the years, which reduce one’s dependence on such a volatile market, especially now.”
