(Marquette County, MI) – The Marquette County Childcare Coalition is introducing an initiative that engages potential home-based child care providers to participate in a business startup and growth accelerator program to meet the current and future demand for affordable quality child care in the county. The proposal would connect existing resources at Marquette-Alger RESA and Great Start to Quality with Lake Superior Community Partnership. The Community Foundation of Marquette County put the group together at the beginning of the year. This includes representatives from the community, local government and non-profit and economic development organizations.
The Community Foundation also initiated the Marquette County Childcare Endowment Fund to provide long-term support for quality child care programs in the county.
