New Delhi: “Are Muslims not natives of India,” AIMIM chief and Lok Sabha MP from Hyderabad, Asaduddin Owaisi, asked on Tuesday when he spoke to Uttar Pradesh prime minister Yogi Adityanath about his “population imbalance” statement issued yesterday ( June 11) was made. He also claimed that Muslims used the most contraceptives and the total fertility rate, which was 2.6 percent in 2016, has now dropped to 2.3 percent.
Adityanath said on Monday during an event to address the start of ‘population control two weeks’ that the population control program should continue successfully, but at the same time ‘population imbalance’ should not be allowed to happen.
The prime minister further said: “Differences in growth rates of different religious groups can cause chaos and anarchy in the country.”

“It should not happen that the percentage of population growth of any class is more while we are working on population control with awareness of the mool nivasi (indigenous inhabitants). “People need to be made aware to control the population through stabilization efforts,” Adityanath said.
Owaisi knocked out the UP CM on Tuesday, saying: “Are not Muslims natives of India? If we see the reality, natives are only tribes and Dravidian people.”
The AIMIM chief also said that Uttar Pradesh’s health minister had earlier said that no law was required in the country for population control. “It is Muslims who use the most contraceptives. Total fertility rate which was 2.6 in 2016 is now 2.3. Country’s demographic dividend is the best among all countries,” Owaisi said.
The Hyderabad MP also claimed that the desired fertility rate in Uttar Pradesh would be achieved by 2026-2030 without any law.
